A 28-year-old passenger died as a result of the accident
The driver of the Mercedes, who was speeding while intoxicated in Obolon, will face trial for the fatal traffic accident.

This is reported by the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.
According to the investigation, on August 22, 2024, a 27-year-old driver of a "Mercedes-Benz G500" was driving under the influence of alcohol (1.90 ppm) along Bohatyrska Street towards Stepan Bandera Avenue at a speed of approximately 150-160 km/h.
“On a left curve of the roadway, he lost control and the right side of the vehicle collided with a metal guardrail. As a result of the accident, a 28-year-old passenger, who was seated in the back of the car, died on the spot from the injuries sustained. The driver and two other passengers did not suffer serious injuries,” the statement reads.
The prosecutor's office has sent an indictment to the court under Part 3 of Article 286-1 of the Criminal Code – violating traffic safety rules while under the influence of alcohol, resulting in the death of the victim.
The penalty for this article provides for up to ten years of imprisonment and a ban on driving vehicles for up to ten years.
