Public Joint Stock Company "Ukrnafta" has acquired a special permit for the Kitvan oil and gas area (Ivano-Frankivsk region) at an auction held by the State Service of Geology and Subsoil (Gosgeonadr) of Ukraine, valid for 20 years.

According to data from the UBIZ.ua platform, "Ukrnafta" bid 6.5 million UAH for the license, while the second participant, LLC "Eurotextile," did not exceed the starting price of 5.017 million UAH.

In the two previous auctions (September 24 and October 11), only "Ukrnafta" showed interest in the Kitvan area, leading to the cancellation of the auctions.

Furthermore, auctions for five other mineral sites with oil and gas reserves were canceled due to a complete lack of bids. These include the Tarashchansky site (starting price – 77.14 million UAH, Chernivtsi region), Lyubyntsivsky (48.309 million UAH, Lviv region), Dobrobatovskyi areas (29.271 million UAH, Transcarpathian region), as well as the Mezhrichya-Eastern site (24.69 million UAH) and the Southern Monastery field (19.286 million UAH, both in Lviv region).

As reported, Gosgeonadr sold 5 out of 11 special permits for mineral sites with oil and gas reserves at auctions on September 24, 2024, for a total sum of 1 billion 177.212 million UAH.

Repeat auctions for the remaining six licenses were scheduled for October 11 and 29, with a price reduction of 25% from the original.

"Ukrnafta" is the largest oil production company in Ukraine and operates the national network of gas stations. In March 2024, the company took over the management of Glusco's assets and currently operates 545 gas stations – 460 owned and 85 under management.

The company is implementing a comprehensive program to restore operations and update the format of its gas station network. Since February 2023, "Ukrnafta" has been issuing its own fuel vouchers and "NAFTAКарта" cards, sold to legal and physical entities through LLC "Ukrnafta-Pochtach."

The largest shareholder of "Ukrnafta" is the National Joint Stock Company "Naftogaz of Ukraine," holding a stake of over 50% plus one share. In November 2022, the decision of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was made to transfer state ownership of the corporate rights of the company, previously owned by private individuals, which is now managed by the Ministry of Defense.
