The Head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Timur Tkachenko, held a meeting with the leadership of the State Special Transport Service
“The Service (SSTS) is a crucial part of the Defense Forces. It restores destroyed infrastructure and carries out the majority of humanitarian demining in liberated territories. This includes hundreds of thousands of hectares of already cleared cities, villages, and lands. Hundreds of rebuilt bridges and other facilities,” stated the head of the KMVA in a Telegram message.
After the liberation of Kyiv Oblast, the Service’s units directly participated in the region's reconstruction. They effectively rebuilt the connections with the capital and revitalized life around Kyiv.
“SSTS personnel are military members who bear the full burden of war. They work in combat zones: setting up pontoon crossings, constructing defensive structures, engaging in anti-drone operations, and securing strategic transport facilities,” emphasizes Timur Tkachenko.
He adds that during the meeting with the head of the SSTS Administration, Major General Oleksandr Yakovets, they discussed key issues. One of these is the lack of modern demining equipment.
“Anti-drone technologies, modern robotic systems for demining, and everything that can protect and secure us – there is a need for this. We can seek partnerships abroad, or we can create conditions for manufacturers ourselves,” stresses Timur Tkachenko.
The Head of the Kyiv City Military Administration is confident that the capital has the potential to be a center for such innovations.
“And we are already working to engage the security sector for their implementation,” underscores Timur Tkachenko.
