Experts note that this will prevent public transport from stopping during air attacks
Avoiding long delays in public transport during air alerts in Kyiv can be achieved by distinguishing levels of danger.
This was stated by Alexander Rak, a representative of the NGO "Passengers of Kyiv," during a roundtable discussion titled "Ensuring Reliable Operation of Public Transport During Air Alerts in Kyiv" on Wednesday, January 29.
The expert suggests using the experience of Ivano-Frankivsk as a model.
“They developed the following scheme: there is a certain procedure where the military informs the administration that, conditionally, a missile is heading towards Frankivsk. They then manually stop the transport. Overall, it continues to operate during air alerts,” Rak explained.
According to him, the NGO "Passengers of Kyiv" proposed to the Kyiv City Military Administration to implement a similar algorithm in the capital.
“Two levels of danger: a regular air alert and an elevated threat level. Accordingly, certain actions take place based on these levels. For instance, at the yellow level, the driver needs to understand what the next shelters are along the route, and if the red level is reached, transport should immediately stop near a shelter,” Rak clarified.
