Criminals were apprehended while attempting to purchase a weapon
The police of Kyiv, in collaboration with the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), arrested two residents of the Kyiv region who were plotting the murder of Serhiy Dubrov, the First Deputy Minister of Health.
This was reported by the Kyiv police communication department.
“During the investigation, law enforcement officers established that two residents of the Kyiv region, a 36-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman, were preparing to kill the First Deputy Minister of Health. Over several months, they monitored the daily routine and movements of the potential victim, rented an apartment in the same residential complex, and to avoid detection, constantly changed their vehicles. Additionally, the couple regularly visited a shooting range to practice their shooting skills,” the report states.
Both criminals were arrested while attempting to buy a pistol intended for the murder of the official. They are currently facing charges under Part 1 of Article 14 and Part 2, Item 12 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – preparation for intentional murder. The penalty under this article includes up to 15 years of imprisonment or life imprisonment.
“Investigators are petitioning the court for the application of a preventive measure in the form of non-alternative detention for the suspects,” the police reported.
