The capital has made it to the top three leaders for the number of documented drunk drivers
Last year, police in Ukraine issued 65,702 protocols for drunk drivers. The highest numbers were recorded in Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, and Odesa regions.

It is noted that last year, more than 8.7 thousand and 7 thousand intoxicated drivers were detected in Dnipropetrovsk and Odesa regions, respectively, while in Kyiv, the figure exceeded 8.1 thousand.
2 Conversely, the least number of protocols for driving under the influence was recorded in Cherkasy — 720, Ternopil — 816, and Ivano-Frankivsk — 880.
3 It is important to mention that last year, there were a thousand traffic accidents resulting in fatalities and injuries due to drunk driving. In these accidents, 110 people died, and 1,302 were injured.
4 Currently, every 25th traffic accident with fatalities or injuries occurs as a result of driving under the influence.
5 Overall, law enforcement officials indicate that in 2024, traffic accidents involving drunk drivers increased by nearly 19 percent compared to 2021.
As a reminder, on the second day of the new year, rescuers freed a driver from a truck that had overturned off a bridge near the "Vydubychi" metro station.
