A scandalous accident occurred on the outskirts of the capital
The city police have identified one of their officers who, while driving a service vehicle, collided at a traffic light and fled the scene of the accident.
This was reported by Kyiv police.
“A service investigation has been initiated regarding the traffic accident involving the service vehicle. The police officer who was driving the vehicle has been suspended from duty,” the statement reads.
Additionally, the law enforcement officials noted that an administrative protocol has been drawn up against the police driver under Article 124 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses (violation of traffic rules resulting in damage to vehicles).
Earlier, a video surfaced on social media showing a police car crashing into a Volkswagen that was stopped at a traffic light. The footage reveals that at the last moment, the officers activated their flashing lights and … fled the scene of the accident.
The incident took place at the entrance to the capital from the direction of Boryspil.
Reminder, on February 16, police and rescuers extricated the driver and passengers of a “Peugeot” that crashed into a pole on Naberezhno-Rybalska Street.
