Residents of the capital are urging the city authorities to remove the sound of the siren from the notification regarding the cancellation of air raid alerts.
A corresponding petition on this matter has been posted on the Kyiv City Council website.
As the authors of the initiative explain, the siren in Kyiv is used not only during the announcement of an air raid alert but also when notifying about its cancellation.
The petition authors believe that this form of notification is not optimal and only confuses people further, as it is not always clear whether it is a cancellation or the beginning of another alert.
In light of the above, the residents of Kyiv are asking the competent authorities of the capital to stop using sirens when announcing the signal for the cancellation of air raid alerts and to limit it to a brief notification instead.
It is worth noting that previously, residents of Kyiv suggested that the city authorities consider the issue of general notification of citizens in cases of power outages in the city.
