The traitor turned out to be a representative of the leadership of one of the SBU units
On the morning of February 12, the head of the Anti-Terrorist Center of the Security Service of Ukraine, who was working for the FSB, was detained.
As reported by the SBU press service, the traitor was personally apprehended by the head of the Security Service, Vasyl Maliuk.
The head of the SBU was directly involved in the operational-investigative group that was working on the traitor and led the operation for his arrest. Maliuk reported on all stages of the special operation directly to the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.
“This was an extremely complex development and subsequent multi-step implementation, during which we utilized all possible open and covert forms and methods of our activities, as well as the entire palette of operational and technical measures. Through encrypted software implants, we infiltrated the traitor's devices—mobile terminals, computers. We practically lived with him, conducting audio and video surveillance. Throughout this process, we were able to effectively document the collection and transmission of relevant information to the enemy by the traitor,” said Vasyl Maliuk.
The Security Service documented 14 episodes of the "rat's" illegal activities. Additionally, through the "rat," the SBU provided disinformation to the enemy for an extended period: initially as part of counterintelligence measures and later within the framework of criminal proceedings.
The Security Service of Ukraine promises to share more details about this special operation soon.
