Detectives from the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine (BEB) have uncovered an exporting company in the Kyiv region that deliberately evaded paying taxes on a large scale, reported the BEB press service.
"The investigation established that the head of a company engaged in the export of agricultural products intentionally failed to reflect in the profit tax declaration the transactions involving the receipt of grain crops, which were subsequently planned for export to European Union countries. As a result, the company evaded paying 12.6 million UAH in taxes. The amount of damage caused to the state has been confirmed by the conclusion of a forensic economic examination," the statement said.
The director of the violating enterprise has been notified of suspicion of committing a criminal offense under part 3 of article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
"During the pre-trial investigation, BEB detectives ensured that the company fully compensated the damage caused to the state. The funds have already been paid into the budget. The criminal proceedings have been sent to court with a request for exemption from criminal liability," the BEB concluded.
