Unex Bank and the Ukrainian Red Cross (URC) have launched a charitable credit card for the citizens of Ukraine.
"On February 12, 2025, Unex Bank and the Ukrainian Red Cross began issuing the Charity credit card. The Charity card, built on the Mastercard payment system, is a versatile banking product that allows every cardholder to engage in the charitable projects of the Ukrainian Red Cross without spending their own funds," the URC announced on Thursday on Facebook.
All cashback earned from card payments and a portion of the interest accrued on the balance of the Charity credit card will be transferred monthly by Unex Bank to the account of the Ukrainian Red Cross, with the client's consent. These funds will be used to support vulnerable groups of the population, including internally displaced persons (IDPs), large families, and people with disabilities.
"Unex Bank offers a cashback of 0.5% on all card purchases starting from 1 UAH, including international transactions and purchases made with the credit limit. There is no need to select categories or activate cashback—it works automatically. You pay with the card and receive cashback. At the beginning of each month, all accumulated rewards, excluding taxes, are automatically directed to the account of the Ukrainian Red Cross with the client's prior consent... The card also provides an annual interest rate of 6% on the balance of the owner's funds. A quarter of this amount will also be sent to charity monthly with the client's agreement," explained Alina Kompanets, Marketing Director of Unex Bank.
Additionally, a credit limit with a grace period of up to 62 days can be activated on the card. Clients can choose whether to use it or not at their discretion. This means the card can serve both as a debit card for purchases and as a full-fledged credit card.
The issuance and maintenance of the Charity card are free of charge. It can be obtained by all adult citizens of Ukraine in both digital form and physical (plastic) form, which can be acquired in addition to the electronic card or separately at any Unex Bank branch.
