Support programs for farmers should last three to seven years, and state agricultural lands should not remain idle but contribute to the budget, emphasized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during a meeting with business leaders in the Rivne region.
"State programs supporting the agricultural sector must be predictable and long-term, focusing on future development rather than short-term solutions. This is about stability for Ukrainian farmers, particularly in livestock and long-term investment projects. We have already begun developing the relevant programs," - stated Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Vitaliy Koval in a Telegram post regarding the president's address to the business community.
He also noted that another key focus, according to the President of Ukraine, is the effective use of state lands. Agricultural plots that are idle or used inefficiently will be transferred for transparent lease through "Prozorro.Sales" as part of the "Land Bank" project. The budget of a country at war must be filled through internal reserves, the minister stressed.
"The Ministry of Agrarian Policy continues systematic work to support Ukraine's agricultural sector. Our goal is to create predictable and long-term conditions for agricultural development, ensure stability for farmers, support livestock farming, and attract investments in strategically important projects," - the Minister of Agrarian Policy assured.
