European energy leaders are backing DTEK's efforts to implement its large-scale projects aimed at ensuring Ukraine's energy resilience amid the full-scale Russian invasion, recognizing their significant positive impact on Europe's energy sector, stated Maxim Timchenko, CEO of the energy holding.

"The energy leaders I met in Munich appreciate this spirit of self-sufficiency and decisive action, and we are collaborating with them and our American partners to accelerate our collective energy security. This is a defining project of our era, and I invite the entire sector to join us," - he wrote on platform X (MSC).

Timchenko noted that throughout the war, DTEK has learned to better protect energy infrastructure and recover more quickly after each Russian attack. Together with partners, they have shifted towards projects that will ensure Ukraine's energy resilience for the long term. Among these projects, he mentioned the construction of a 500 MW wind farm in the Mykolaiv region in collaboration with the Danish company Vestas, as well as energy storage systems with a total capacity of 200 MW in partnership with the American-German manufacturer Fluence. Additionally, he highlighted DTEK's import of American liquefied natural gas from the USA, "to help Europe replace Russian gas." Timchenko also pointed out that DTEK is developing "an ambitious portfolio of wind, battery, and grid assets."

He called the MSC one of the most significant events in recent decades.

"In discussions with industry colleagues and politicians, I sensed clarity and determination to strengthen our energy security. Europe understands the urgency of the moment… and is responding," wrote the CEO of DTEK.

He expressed gratitude for the involvement in addressing this important issue, particularly to Christian Bruch, CEO of Siemens Energy, Andrew Solinger, publisher and CEO of Foreign Policy, Kadri Simson, European Commissioner for Energy from 2019 to 2024, and to Markus Rauramo, Vice President of the European energy industry association Eurelectric and CEO of Fortum.

For her part, Kadri Simson noted on platform X that at the conference, she had a great opportunity to hear Eurelectric's report on Redefining Energy Security (ERS), as well as to learn about DTEK's experience as the largest private energy supply company during the war.
