Companies from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are prepared to invest in the production of processed goods, grain transshipment, and port development, reported the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.
According to the ministry, during a working visit to Saudi Arabia, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, Vitaliy Koval, as part of a government delegation led by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko, met with more than 20 leading companies from the UAE. Among them are port operators, investment, agricultural, and trading enterprises interested in import-export cooperation with Ukraine.
"Ukraine and the United Arab Emirates have opened a new chapter in economic partnership. Among the UAE companies, there are those ready to enter the Ukrainian market. In particular, they are interested in investing in the production of processed goods, such as oilseeds, rapeseed, and soybeans. They are also keen on grain transshipment and the development of port infrastructure," Koval noted.
The minister emphasized that the Ukrainian agricultural sector is already actively working with the UAE. In 2024, agricultural exports amounted to over $197 million. The most popular products included: fats and oils of animal or vegetable origin, meat and edible by-products, grain crops, vinegar, and similar items.
As reported, on February 17 in Abu Dhabi, an agreement on a Comprehensive Economic Partnership between Ukraine and the UAE was signed. It provides for free trade between the countries and the liberalization of access to the UAE market for Ukrainian agricultural products, particularly duty-free supplies of beef, lamb, dairy, and processed food products. Additionally, the Saudi side expressed interest in the joint development of cattle breeding and the production of organic products.
