Energy workers from the distribution system operator (DSO) "DTEK Networks" restored electricity supply fully or partially to 45 settlements from January 6 to 12, bringing light back to the homes of over 86,000 families in the Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
"Last week, enemy attacks on energy infrastructure continued. Additionally, energy workers have been restoring networks and equipment damaged by shelling. In particular, in Dnipropetrovsk, electricity was returned to 67,600 households," the energy holding's press release stated on Monday.
The company noted that the enemy has been shelling the Dnipropetrovsk region almost daily, resulting in regular damage to power lines and leaving residents without electricity.
Meanwhile, in the Donetsk region, which remains the site of the most active combat operations, nearly 18,400 homes of local residents regained electricity over the week despite all security challenges. Restoring power in the region is becoming increasingly difficult, yet specialists continue to work wherever possible.
"Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, we have restored electricity to 16.5 million families in the Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Donetsk regions, and the city of Kyiv. In some settlements close to the combat zone, we have restored power dozens of times," said Alina Bondarenko, CEO of "DTEK Networks."
"DTEK Networks" is expanding its business in electricity distribution and power grid operation in Kyiv, as well as in the Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, and Odesa regions. The company’s DSO serves 5.5 million households and 158,000 enterprises.
