The capital's police have opened a criminal case concerning the beating of a schoolgirl by her peers in the Obolon district of Kyiv. The identities of three participants in the conflict have already been established.

This was reported by the Main Directorate of the National Police of Ukraine in Kyiv.

According to the law enforcement officers, information about the abuse of a minor was discovered by the police last night during a social media monitoring. In particular, a video was posted on one of the Telegram channels showing two girls hitting a schoolgirl in the face.

After verification, it was preliminarily determined that the girls had invited the victim for a walk, after which a conflict arose between them. One of them started recording a video on her phone, while the other two began to hit the 13-year-old girl.

The police noted that the identity of the victim has now been established. Additionally, two other participants in the conflict have been identified: a 15-year-old local resident who delivered the blows and a 14-year-old student from a local school who filmed the abuse of the victim.

In connection with this incident, investigators from the Obolon Police Department have initiated a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 126 (beatings and torture) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Measures are being taken to identify the third participant in the crime.

Recall that last year, the vast majority of reports of bullying were submitted to law enforcement agencies in Kyiv and the Kyiv region: 36 notifications.
