Zelensky: The U.S. is trying to appease Putin and seeks his approval.

He made this statement in an interview with the ARD television channel, reports Tagesschau.

According to him, the USA wants to please Putin in order to “come to a mutual understanding and achieve success quickly.” However, Zelensky continued, “a ceasefire is not a success.”

The president also commented on the words of Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth, who stated that returning to the borders of 2014 is “unrealistic.” Zelensky expressed confidence that the territories occupied by Russia will someday become part of Ukraine again.

“Of course, we will return everything. Respect for international law will return. If not today, then tomorrow,” the head of state emphasized.

Zelensky also reiterated that “there can be no question” of resolving the Russian-Ukrainian conflict without Ukraine's involvement.

“Everything that Russia and the USA can agree on, if they actually want to negotiate anything, pertains to their bilateral relations. They certainly cannot negotiate about our people, our lives, and the end of the war without us. We are an independent state,” the president added.
