The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, announced that he plans to meet with the U.S. President's special envoy for Russia and Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, who has arrived in Kyiv on February 20.
The head of state shared this information in his evening video address.
According to Zelensky, on the first day of his visit to Kyiv, Kellogg met with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, as well as with intelligence and special services leaders, and also had a meeting with the head of the President's Office, Andriy Yermak. The President intends to meet with the U.S. special envoy tomorrow, February 20.
“It is very important for us that the meeting and overall cooperation with America be constructive. Together with America and Europe, peace can be more secure. This is our goal,” emphasized Zelensky.
The head of state highlighted that Ukraine aims to end the war “from the very first second,” but in a way that ensures Russia “cannot come back again and that Ukrainians return from Russian captivity.”
“I rely on Ukrainian unity, on our Ukrainian courage, on our relationships with partners, and on our unity in Europe, as well as on the pragmatism of America,” added the President.
In Zelensky's opinion, the U.S. needs success just as much as Ukraine does.
