This week, a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in the "Ramstein" format is scheduled. President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this in his evening video address.
"We are already preparing for the meeting in Ramstein: it is planned for this week. Dozens of partner countries, including those that can enhance our capabilities not only in missile defense but also in protection against guided bombs and Russian aviation.
We will discuss this with them and persuade them. Life requires protection here and now in Ukraine, and air defense systems must operate for this purpose.
I want to thank all the partners who understand this and assist us in developing our air shield," Zelensky stated.
Recently, "Radio Free Europe" reported that U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin will hold a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group at the Ramstein Air Base in Germany on Thursday, January 9.
