Yurii Ihnat has been appointed as the head of the Communications Department of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He announced this on his Facebook page and confirmed it in a comment to "Detector Media."
As Ihnat noted, the communication structure within the Armed Forces of Ukraine has been revised. According to the order from the Commander-in-Chief, communication units have been established.
He mentioned that in the summer of 2024, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine created a communications department.
Since autumn, Yurii Ihnat has been serving as the acting head, and on December 24, he was officially appointed to the position of head of the department.
On March 16, the then-commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Mykola Oleshchuk, announced the transfer of spokesperson Yurii Ihnat to a different area of work. He stated that Ihnat would remain part of the Air Force but would work in a different capacity. Ihnat has led the press service of the Air Force Command since 2018.
