The UK has implemented its largest sanctions package against Russia in three years.

On the occasion of the third anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the United Kingdom has implemented its largest sanctions package against Russia since February 24, 2022.

The British government reported this.

Sanctions have been imposed on 107 companies and individuals.

The new sanctions will target funds going to the "military treasury" of Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin, as well as the Russian military apparatus, structures in third countries that support it, and fragile supply chains upon which it relies.

British sanctions have affected manufacturers and suppliers of machinery, electronics, and dual-use goods for the Russian military, including microprocessors used in weapon systems. These entities are based in several third countries, including Central Asian nations, Turkey, Thailand, India, and China, which is the largest supplier of critical goods for the Russian military.

Sanctions have also been introduced against North Korean Defense Minister No Kwan Chol and other North Korean generals and officials involved in deploying over 11,000 North Korean troops to Russia.

The list includes 13 Russian companies and individuals, including LLC "Grant-Trade," its owner Marat Mustafaev, and his sister Dinara Mustafaeva, who used the company to supply advanced European technologies to Russia to support its illegal war.

For the first time, London has imposed restrictions on foreign financial institutions that support the Russian military apparatus, specifically including the Kyrgyz OJSC "Keremet Bank," based in Kyrgyzstan, undermining the use of the Russian international financial system to support its military efforts.

The list also includes 40 vessels transporting Russian oil. Their total number is now 133.

Additionally, the country has imposed sanctions on 14 "new kleptocrats," some of whom head strategic sectors of the Russian economy. Among them is Roman Trocenko, one of the wealthiest individuals in Russia, with a fortune of £2.2 billion.

Foreign Secretary David Lammy stated that this package is the largest in three years and emphasizes the UK's commitment to Ukraine.

"Every disrupted military supply line, every blocked ruble, every exposed accomplice of Putin's aggression is a step towards a just and lasting peace, as well as security and prosperity in the UK, which is part of this government's Plan for Change," the minister said.
