The city mayor, Alexander Senkevich, reported on this matter.
On the night of February 16, Russian forces struck the city’s heat and power plant with multiple drones, leaving residents without heating. The attack completely destroyed the electricity generation facilities.
“We are currently working to restore heating using alternative methods. The efforts are ongoing. I won’t go into details, but it’s truly challenging,” said Senkevich.
The mayor emphasized that, thanks to cooperation with Denmark, modular boilers were obtained, which helped maintain heat in hospitals.
Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal stated that 46,000 residents are left without heating.
In the city, 67 points of invincibility have been set up, and efforts have begun to connect three modular boilers in healthcare facilities.
On the night of February 16, Russian forces attacked Mykolaiv with drones. In addition to damaging critical infrastructure, five apartment buildings, at least four shops, a dining establishment, and office spaces were also affected.
A 64-year-old man was injured and has been hospitalized.
