The General Staff confirmed strikes on an oil depot in the Smolensk region of Russia.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced that during the night of December 31, the Defense Forces struck another oil depot belonging to the Russian occupiers.

This was reported by the General Staff.

The strike targeted the "Yartsevskaya" oil depot located in the Smolensk region of the Russian Federation.

This operation was carried out by a unit of the Special Operations Forces in coordination with the UAV Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other defense units.

Powerful explosions were heard at the site, and a fire broke out, leading to significant smoke visibility.

According to the General Staff, tanks containing petroleum products caught fire. It is known that the depot was used, among other purposes, to supply the Russian occupying army.

“The destruction of critical enemy targets will continue until the Russian Federation ceases its armed aggression against Ukraine. To be continued…” — emphasized the General Staff.

It is noteworthy that this morning in the Smolensk region of Russia, there were reports of a drone attack, resulting in damage to the oil depot.

According to local authorities, preliminary information suggests that debris from one of the drones fell on the oil depot's premises. This led to a fuel spill and the ignition of flammable materials.
