In the Russian city of Engels, a fire continues to intensify following an overnight drone attack. Local residents report that smoke has engulfed half of the city, with flames visible from nearly every point in Engels.
The fire is still spreading, and explosions can still be heard in the vicinity of the oil depot. Saratov Region Governor Roman Busergin confirms the expansion of the fire's area. His statement mentions a "damaged industrial facility."
A state of emergency has been declared in the city. During the firefighting efforts, two emergency service employees lost their lives, and one has been hospitalized.
Overnight, Ukrainian drones targeted the oil depot of the "Crystal" plant of Rosrezerv in Engels. This federal state institution is responsible for storing fuel for the "Engels-2" airbase, where strategic bombers are stationed that carry out missile strikes on Ukraine.
