The Russian forces launched an attack on Ukraine on the night of February 26, using 177 strike drones of the Shahed type and various types of imitation drones.
This was reported by the Command of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As of 09:00, the destruction of 110 drones has been confirmed. They were neutralized in the Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Kherson, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
Another 66 Russian imitation drones were lost in terms of location (without negative consequences).
The drones were launched from the directions of the settlements of Orel, Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo, Shatalovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia.
The air assault was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Air Forces and Defense Forces of Ukraine.
As a result of the nighttime attacks, the Kyiv, Kharkiv, Kirovohrad, and Sumy regions were affected.
In the Bucha district of Kyiv region, a woman was killed, and two others were injured. In the Belopillia community of the Sumy region, one civilian was injured.
In Kharkiv, debris from a Russian drone "Geran" struck a 9-story apartment building in the Kyiv district. Two people were injured – they had an acute stress reaction. Additionally, five more people were rescued.
