Ukrainian forces have eliminated around 2,000 Russian troops and 26 armored vehicles, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In the last 24 hours, on January 4th, the Russian army has reported an additional 1,730 soldiers killed or wounded. Since February 2022, Russia's total personnel losses have reached 796,490 individuals.

This is mentioned in the report from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Losses in equipment and armaments have also increased:

  • tanks — 9686 (+7 in the last 24 hours);
  • armored fighting vehicles — 20,119 (+26);
  • artillery systems — 21,603 (+25);
  • MLRS — 1257;
  • air defense systems — 1032;
  • airplanes — 369;
  • helicopters — 331;
  • tactical UAVs — 21,447 (+91);
  • cruise missiles — 3006;
  • ships/boats — 28;
  • submarines — 1;
  • automotive equipment and tank trucks — 32,940 (+97);
  • special equipment — 3677 (+2).

Ukraine's losses

President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on December 8, 2024, that in the full-scale war with Russia, 43,000 Ukrainian servicemen have died. At the same time, there are also reports of 370,000 instances of aid provided to the wounded. According to Zelensky, 50% of the injured return to service.

Previously, Kyiv had not disclosed data on losses among its servicemen. The Ministry of Defense stated that information regarding the number of fallen Ukrainian fighters would remain classified until the end of martial law.

According to estimates from the "Book of Memory of Those Who Fell for Ukraine" project, released in mid-November 2023, at least 30,000 Ukrainian fighters have died since February 24, 2022. Additionally, up to 100,000 military personnel have been injured, but most of them were either in service or were soon expected to return to it.
