В Украине в рамках второго этапа программы "Grain from Ukraine" было отправлено 47 тыс. тонн продовольствия в страны, испытывающие нужду.

After the second Grain from Ukraine forum in May 2024, Ukraine has delivered 47,000 tons of various food products to African countries, reported the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Vitaliy Koval during a national telethon.

The Minister noted that at this stage of implementing the president's initiative, Grain from Ukraine, the range of food supplies to needy countries has been expanded.

"Today, it's not just wheat and flour. We have also added sunflower oil to our assortment. This is important. A promising area for expansion is dairy products. We understand that ready-made food should be on the tables in those countries that need it today," emphasized Koval.

He added that many countries, due to their circumstances, are unable to process wheat into flour, so Ukraine's task is to identify the needs of the population in each country in need, as well as the state that is assisting them.

Speaking about the expansion of supply geography, Koval specified that among the recipients of Ukrainian food in Africa are Djibouti, Mauritania, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Recently, Middle Eastern countries have also joined this list.

"The initiative demonstrates its viability and significance. (…) It is important that the recipients who receive assistance understand that even in times of war, they have the right to an extension (of food aid – IF-U). This continuation (of such support – IF-U) is what Ukrainians guarantee today," the minister concluded.
