Since the end of November, 357 citizens have contacted the police
Since November 25, 2024, a campaign for the declaration of firearms by civilian citizens has been underway in Ukraine.

The police of Kyiv reminded about this.
“This means that individuals who illegally possess or have found firearms and ammunition can declare them and own them legally,” law enforcement officials explain.
Since the beginning of the campaign, 357 citizens have approached the police, declaring 362 units of firearms (submachine guns, rifles, shotguns, pistols) and over 26,000 rounds of ammunition. They have received the necessary documents and can now legally store their weapons.
To declare a weapon, one must:
– report the discovery or possession of the weapon to the National Police hotline 102 or contact the local police department where they reside;
– arrive at the nearest police unit within 24 hours, or the licensing service specialists will come to the declarant's residence to carry out the procedure;
– only a passport, a photo, and an identification code are required for the declaration.
The police of Kyiv emphasize that possessing undeclared firearms and ammunition as a civilian carries criminal liability.
“Declaring a weapon and owning it legally is very simple,” law enforcement officials stress.
