A shooting occurred in a cafe in the Montenegrin town of Cetinje, resulting in at least seven fatalities, including two children. The assailant fled the scene, as reported by Radio and Television of Montenegro (RTCG).
Official data regarding the number of victims has not yet been confirmed. According to the country's Ministry of Internal Affairs, several relatives of the shooter are among the deceased.
The police statement indicated that a 45-year-old man with the initials O.M. is suspected of the crime and is currently being sought by law enforcement.
The police emphasized that the incident is a "isolated event" and is not linked to organized criminal groups.
Meanwhile, an RTCG source claims that prior to the attack, A.M. (identified as Aco Martinovic, a local resident) had a quarrel with one of the victims, whose initials are D.K.
"Then Martinovic went home for a gun, returned to the cafe, where he killed and injured several people. After this, he proceeded to the Humci area, where he killed the cafe owner's children and one woman," the national Radio and Television reported.
It is noted that although the suspect has no ties to the mafia, he is "known for aggressive behavior" and has previously been detained for illegal possession of weapons.
The injured were taken to the Clinical Center in the capital of Montenegro, Podgorica, where the Prime Minister, Milojko Spajić, arrived.
He announced a three-day period of mourning in the republic, adding that doctors are fighting for the lives of four of the wounded.
