Ukraine sees nothing new in the plans of the 47th President of the United States, Donald Trump, to meet with the dictator Putin. The Republican has repeatedly stated such intentions.
This was announced by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Georgiy Tikhiy, during a briefing.
"Donald Trump has previously mentioned plans for such a meeting (with Putin — ed.), so we do not see anything new in this," Tikhiy stated.
The MFA spokesperson added that Kyiv's position remains clear: the full-scale war must end justly. At the same time, Trump is also determined to end the war.
Tikhiy noted that what is crucial today is that Ukraine is also looking forward to a meeting between Trump and President Volodymyr Zelensky, as cooperation with the United States is a priority.
"We are preparing for Ukrainian-American contacts at the highest and high levels immediately after the inauguration," he added.
