In 2025, the European Union will provide Ukraine with financial assistance amounting to €35 billion.

This was announced by the Vice-President of the European Commission, the EU Commissioner for Trade Valdis Dombrovskis.

He noted that Ukraine will receive these funds through two programs — the G7 ERA loan initiative and the Ukraine Facility program.

Valdis Dombrovskis shared a photo with Ukraine’s First Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, mentioning that they discussed "enlargement and steps aimed at bringing closer to the EU’s Single Market."

The Ukraine Facility program entails multi-year financial support for Ukraine from the European Union amounting to €50 billion during 2024-2027. Of this amount, €39 billion will be allocated to the state budget to enhance the country’s macro-financial stability. The remaining funds will constitute an investment fund to support key sectors of the economy, particularly to cover credit risks and pay interest on loans.

Within the framework of the G7 loan initiative, in October 2024, the leaders of the "Big Seven" reached a final agreement to provide Ukraine with a loan of $50 billion. Negotiations had been ongoing since June, and it was ultimately decided that the United States would allocate up to $20 billion, the European Union up to $35 billion, and the United Kingdom around $3 billion.
