Trump: I know that Putin would like to meet.

He stated this during a press conference at his Mar-a-Lago residence.

According to him, he "knows" that Russian leader Vladimir Putin would like to meet. Trump did not specify when this might happen; however, he considers it "inappropriate" before his inauguration, scheduled for January 20. "What I hate is that many young people are being killed every day," the Republican added.

Trump also reiterated that this is a war that should not have occurred, and it supposedly would not have started if he were president.

As a reminder, on November 10, 2024, the Washington Post reported, citing sources, that Trump had a phone conversation with Putin, advising him not to escalate the situation. However, the Kremlin denied this information.

During the annual year-end press conference on December 19, the head of the Russian Federation stated that he had not communicated with Trump for over four years. After the Republican's victory in the elections, the Kremlin leader publicly welcomed him.
