“We are dealing with Ukraine and Russia; we have meetings and negotiations planned with various parties, including Ukraine and Russia. And I think these discussions are going quite well,” stated Trump.
Previously, the U.S. president mentioned that he is having a “very serious discussion” with Russia regarding the end of the war in Ukraine, although he did not clarify what exactly he meant. He also said he would speak with Russian President Vladimir Putin about the war in Ukraine and suggested that “we might do something significant.”
However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned Trump against negotiations to settle the war in Ukraine involving Moscow but excluding Kyiv.
Meanwhile, Kit Kellogg, who was appointed by U.S. President Donald Trump as a special envoy for Ukraine, is convinced that it will take months, not years, to initiate peace talks.
