He stated this during a press conference at his Mar-a-Lago residence.

The Republican believes that Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, with its toll of casualties and destroyed cities, represents a “failure of Biden.” According to Trump, the situation regarding Ukraine is “much more complicated” now.

He did not provide a clear answer to the question of whether he could commit to further support for Ukrainians in the event of negotiations beginning.

Then the politician emphasized that Russia has long held the position that NATO should not engage with Ukraine. “It was as if it were carved in stone. And Biden said — no, they should have the opportunity to join NATO. Then Russia would have someone right at its doorstep, but I can understand their feelings about it,” Trump added.

In his view, many mistakes were made in the negotiation process. Specifically, Trump mentioned that when he heard Biden negotiating, he warned that it could end in war.

Next, a journalist clarified Trump’s stance on Ukraine’s inability to join NATO. “In my opinion, this has always been understood. I actually believe they had an agreement, and then Biden broke it. They reached an agreement that would have been satisfactory for Ukraine and everyone else. But Biden said — no, you must have the ability to join NATO,” responded the elected president.
