The Biden administration is set to announce a new military aid package for Ukraine at the beginning of next week. According to sources from the Associated Press, the total amount will be $1.25 billion.

The aid package will include a significant number of munitions, including those for the NASAMS and HAWK air defense missile systems.

Additionally, Kyiv will receive missiles for the portable Stinger air defense system, as well as 155mm and 105mm artillery shells. An announcement regarding the package is expected on Monday, December 30.

In November, the Pentagon stated that the U.S. has currently approved $9.3 billion in military assistance to Ukraine, with $7.1 billion under the Presidential Drawdown Authority (PDA) initiative and $2.21 billion from the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI).

At the beginning of December, the State Department announced a $725 million aid package for Ukraine. These funds were allocated under the U.S. presidential authority to draw down weapons from Pentagon stockpiles. On December 8, the U.S. provided Ukraine with a military aid package worth $988 million.

According to American media, the Biden administration is unlikely to spend all $5.6 billion allocated for aid to Ukraine under the Pentagon's arms transfer program.

This week, the U.S. President instructed the Department of Defense to continue increasing arms supplies.
