Syrskyi revealed how many targets were struck by drones in December and the percentage attributed to kamikaze drones.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces are significantly increasing both the quantity and quality of drone usage on the battlefield.
Сирский сообщил, сколько целей были поражены дронами в декабре и какой процент составили дроны-камикадзе.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, published a post summarizing the results of a meeting with commanders of unmanned systems units and electronic warfare units. Specifically, it highlights the outcomes from December 2024 - according to the Commander-in-Chief, operators of various unmanned systems targeted over 54,000 objectives of the Russian occupying forces in December alone, with 49% (approximately 26,500) attributed to kamikaze drones, as stated in the post.

Syrskyi also notes the positive dynamics in both the effectiveness of target engagement and the survivability of drones on the battlefield, particularly emphasizing the work of "Madyar's Birds" (Major Robert Brovdi), which have transformed over the year from a RUBpAK company to the 414th separate brigade of unmanned aerial systems.

Among other units, the following exhibited high operational efficiency:

  • the unmanned systems unit of the 46th Air Assault Brigade;
  • the 57th Motorized Infantry;
  • the 28th Mechanized;
  • the 35th Marine Corps Brigade;
  • the 3rd Assault Brigade.

Syrskyi also announced an increase in the number of brigades "with an enhanced unmanned component" and the nearing completion of work on the concept of employing separate unmanned systems brigades and forming the structure of such a brigade.

Moreover, the Commander-in-Chief emphasized that the enemy is increasing the use of fiber-optic controlled drones on the battlefield, which enables operations in conditions of electronic warfare.

"However, we are not standing still and have also begun to utilize FPV drones on fiber optics, expanding our capabilities to target and destroy Russian military equipment and personnel," Syrskyi noted.

Earlier, Defense Express reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine completed the testing phase of fiber-optic drones.
