A drone strike by Russians targeted a vehicle in Sumy, resulting in the death of the driver.

This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.

According to the investigation, around 16:00, the enemy attacked a vehicle traveling along one of the central streets of the city of Sumy using a drone.

As a result of the injuries, a 62-year-old driver died in the ambulance, while a 31-year-old passenger was wounded and hospitalized.

The law enforcement authorities have initiated a pre-trial investigation into the commission of war crimes that resulted in a person's death (part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Situation in Sumy Region

According to data from the OVA, during the night and morning of February 24, Russians carried out 9 shellings of border areas and settlements in the Sumy region. A total of 27 explosions were recorded. The communities of Yunakivka, Krasnopillia, Velykopysarivka, and Hlukhiv were subjected to shelling.
