Russians launched missile attacks on Kyiv, causing debris to fall over the city. Explosions were also reported in the Sumy region.

On the morning of December 31, explosions were heard in Kyiv. Russian forces targeted the capital with missiles, and there were loud blasts in the Sumy region as well.

Regarding the situation in the capital, reported the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Serhiy Popko.

Preliminary reports indicate that as a result of a missile strike on Kyiv, debris was recorded falling in the Darnytskyi district of the capital. It is believed they may have landed on the roof of a private building, and this information is being verified. There are no reports of fire or destruction, nor any information about casualties.

Air defense systems were also operational in the Kyiv region, reported the regional military administration.

Additionally, on December 31, the occupiers launched a missile strike on the infrastructure of the Shostka community. The consequences of the attack are being clarified, conveyed the regional military administration.

In the morning, explosions were heard again in Shostka, reports the local publication "Hranitsa.Media."

Updated at 9:07. The regional military administration stated that the Russians continue to strike the infrastructure of the Shostka community with missiles.

According to data from the city mayor Mykola Noga, several infrastructure facilities have been destroyed. Additionally, 12 multi-story residential buildings, two educational institutions, and other social infrastructure objects have been damaged.

Emergency rescue units are currently on site.

As of 8:30, air raid alerts are ongoing across Ukraine. Initially, there was a threat of ballistic weapon use, and now a MiG-31K has been spotted at the "Savasleika" airfield in Russia.
