Russians launched an attack on Ukraine with over a hundred drones, of which 59 were intercepted by air defense forces.

On the night of January 31, Russian military forces launched an attack on Ukraine using 102 Shahed-type strike drones and decoy drones. The defense forces successfully intercepted over half of the targets.

This was reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The occupiers launched drones from various locations: from Russian Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as from temporarily occupied Crimea.

The air assault was repelled by anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Forces, and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

As of 09:00, 59 "Shaheds" and drones of other types have been confirmed shot down in Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, and Odesa regions.

Another 37 imitation drones have been location-lost (without negative consequences). Additionally, four enemy drones are still airborne—the combat operation continues.

Consequences of the Attack

In Chornomorsk, Odesa region, the city hospital, a private residential building, an administrative building, a grain warehouse, and cargo vehicles were damaged, reported the head of the OVA, Oleg Kiper. Four people were injured there, including a doctor who was performing surgery during the attack. All the wounded are in moderately serious condition.

There were also issues with electricity supply. DTEK specialists are already working to restore power to homes.

In Sumy region, two people were injured due to the UAV attack, and a private house was damaged, noted the OVA.

In Cherkasy, according to data from the head of the OVA, Ihor Taburets, debris from a "Shahed" damaged a balcony in one of the apartments of a multi-story building. A fire broke out there, but it has already been extinguished.
