According to the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff, Russia has lost 800,000 personnel in the war against Ukraine.

In the past 24 hours, on January 6, the Russian army has lost an additional 1,970 soldiers, both killed and injured. Since February 2022, Russia's total personnel losses have reached 800,010 individuals.

The losses in equipment and armaments have also increased:

  • tanks — 9710 (+10 over the past day);
  • armored fighting vehicles — 20,189 (+25);
  • artillery systems — 21,710 (+45);
  • MLRS — 1260 (+2);
  • air defense systems — 1038 (+4);
  • aircraft — 369;
  • helicopters — 331;
  • operational-tactical UAVs — 21,708 (+83);
  • cruise missiles — 3014;
  • ships/boats — 28;
  • submarines — 1;
  • automotive vehicles and fuel tankers — 33,226 (+170);
  • special equipment — 3681.

Ukraine's Losses

On December 8, 2024, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that in the full-scale war with Russia, 43,000 Ukrainian servicemen have died. At the same time, there are also reports of 370,000 instances of medical assistance provided to the wounded. According to Zelensky, 50% of the injured return to service.

Previously, Kyiv had not disclosed information regarding the losses among its servicemen. The Ministry of Defense stated that details about the number of fallen Ukrainian fighters would remain classified until the end of martial law.

According to estimates from the "Book of Remembrance of Those Who Died for Ukraine" project, published in mid-November 2023, at least 30,000 Ukrainian fighters have died since February 24, 2022. Additionally, up to 100,000 military personnel have been wounded, but most of them were either on duty or were expected to return to it soon.
