While discussing the return of Russian soldiers and civilians from captivity, who were taken from the parts of the Kursk region controlled by Ukraine, Moskalkova noted that Ukrainian soldiers vary and attempted to save local residents.
“We worked with the guys who returned from captivity, bringing back the residents of the Kursk region. They were taken by Ukrainian military to Sumy, and from there through Belarus to Russia. They shared various stories. They talked about how Ukrainian servicemen brought them food and shared their last supplies. Ukrainians are different,” stated the ombudsman.
Moskalkova also mentioned that Ukrainian military allegedly saved residents of the Kursk region from “mercenaries,” with whom the Armed Forces of Ukraine supposedly arrived, adding that “they have nothing sacred.”
The Russian ombudsman emphasized that one should not “lose humanity” and view Ukraine solely as an “empire of evil.”
