Analysts calculated that over the past year, the Russian army lost approximately 102 personnel for every square kilometer of Ukrainian territory.
More than half of all territorial gains (56.5%) were achieved by Russia between September and November 2024, during which they occupied 2356 km² of Ukrainian land while losing over 125,000 soldiers.
In December, the Russian offensive slowed down somewhat. During this period, they captured 593 km², with losses for the occupiers remaining consistent with those in the fall. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the average daily losses of Russian servicemen in December amounted to 1585 individuals per day.
