The use of UAVs was reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as early as the evening before. At 5:25, they reported the takeoff of 4 Russian Tu-95 MS bombers from the airfield in Engels.
Drones were observed, particularly in the Sumy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Poltava, Mykolaiv, and Vinnytsia regions.
Meanwhile, missiles entered Ukrainian airspace through the Chernihiv region towards the Kyiv region, but then changed direction and flew towards the Poltava and Cherkasy regions. Their course also shifted towards the Ternopil and Zhytomyr regions.
Due to the Russian attack on Ukraine, neighboring Poland raised its aviation. All available forces and resources, along with ground-based air defense systems and radar reconnaissance, were put on alert, as reported by the Operational Command of the Armed Forces of Poland.
In Sumy, two Russian drones struck residential areas, damaging windows of residential buildings. There are two injured individuals, as reported by the State Emergency Service. The OVA also stated that a "Shahed" attacked the Khotyn community, with the consequences still being clarified.
Meanwhile, in the Kyiv region, the Obukhiv and Fastiv districts were under fire, as reported by the Kyiv OVA. In Obukhiv, a private house and outbuildings were destroyed.
Additionally, a 44-year-old woman was injured and sent to the hospital with a cut wound to her leg. In the Fastiv district, private houses were also damaged.
