Today, January 31, in the capital the two-week enhanced checks of passenger and freight carriers will be concluded, conducted in coordination with the State Service of Ukraine for Transport Safety

Inspections will continue on a planned basis, reported on social media by the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration Timur Tkachенко.

The specialists from Ukrtransbezpeka and Patrol Police focused primarily on the busiest highways of the city, as well as transfer hubs like bus stations, metro stations, etc. Inspectors conducted 548 checks of trucks and 765 checks of passenger transport from private carriers.

They identified 96 violations in freight transportation amounting to a total of 1 million 223 thousand 830 hryvnias. In passenger transport, there were 148 violations totaling 2 million 437 thousand 120 hryvnias.

Among the main violations in freight transportation were the lack of permits, violations of working and rest hours, and exceeding dimensional and weight parameters.

Regarding passenger transportation, inspectors most frequently recorded violations such as the absence of permits from drivers and non-compliance with work and rest hours.

Timur Tkachенко emphasized that based on the inspection results, he will initiate a directive to the municipal transport service and the relevant deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration to check private carriers in Kyiv for compliance with the proper technical condition of rolling stock. In cases of systemic violations, the strictest sanctions will be applied. Flagrant violators must be removed from operation on the capital's streets.
