The cost of tariffs for lifecell, the third largest operator by the number of subscribers, will increase in February. This was stated by Mikhail Shelemba, CEO of DVL ("Datagroup," "Volia," and lifecell) in an interview with Forbes Ukraine.
Unfortunately, a necessary price adjustment for existing subscribers will occur. This change will take place in February.
The reason for this is the rise in electricity costs.
All operators have felt the impact of rising electricity prices. Over the past year, it has nearly doubled. For this year, we are budgeting 2.3 billion UAH in expenses for this.
Thanks to cost optimization, we will manage to keep the increase to half of what economic conditions would require. The last price increase for existing subscribers happened almost a year and a half ago, and it only affected 15% of the subscriber base.
The price revision will not affect new customers who transferred their numbers to lifecell since December. They had the opportunity to lock in their tariff rates until the end of the year.
It is worth noting that Kyivstar and Vodafone have also recently raised their tariffs.
