Occupants launched 30 drones: half were shot down, and several others were lost.

On January 4, Russian forces launched an attack on Ukraine using 30 strike drones. The air defense system intercepted 14 of them, while an additional 16 were reported as "lost in location" without causing any damage.

This was reported by the command of the Ukrainian Air Forces.

As explained by the Air Forces, the 16 lost drones were decoys.

As of 21:38, there were reports of a new attack: drones entered the Sumy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, and Poltava regions.

Recall that on the night of January 4, 2025, Russians launched 81 strike UAVs of the Shahed type and various types of decoy drones from Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk against Ukraine.

The air assault was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Forces, and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

As of 9 AM, 34 “Shaheds” and drones of other types were confirmed shot down in the Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, and Mykolaiv regions.

Another 47 decoy drones were lost without negative consequences. However, in the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the downed drones damaged private homes.
