The elected President of the United States, Donald Trump, is gradually moving away from his claims that he could end Russia's war against Ukraine in a day. His expectations have shifted towards Easter.

This was stated by British Foreign Secretary David Lammy.

Lammy views positively the indications that Trump is stepping back from his radical statements regarding the possibility of reaching a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia in a day. Such rhetoric was characteristic of the Republican during the election campaign, but the situation has now changed.

"Donald Trump has not yet taken office. I think, judging by what I've seen over the past few days, there are signs of a slight retreat from the feeling that somehow an agreement would be reached by January 21. I think that now this is unlikely. And we hear that the timelines have actually shifted somewhat... towards Easter," added the Foreign Secretary.

It is worth noting that this year, Roman Catholics, Greek Catholics, and Orthodox Christians will celebrate Easter on the same day—April 20.
