The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) plans to conduct inspections next year regarding information security, cybersecurity, and the provision of qualified electronic trust services in six out of the 61 banks currently operating in the country.

According to a press release from the NBU on Tuesday, inspections are scheduled for the first quarter of 2025 at Crédit Agricole Bank, the second quarter at Raiffeisen Bank, and in the third quarter at "Pivdenny" and "Kredit Dnipro" banks. Inspections at Kominbank and Altbank will take place in the fourth quarter of next year.

"This will enhance banks' capabilities to respond to modern cyber threats and strengthen the cybersecurity resilience of both individual banks and the banking system as a whole," the regulator believes.

It is noted that the planning of on-site inspections regarding information security, cybersecurity, and the provision of qualified electronic trust services is based on a risk-oriented approach.

Inspections will be conducted taking into account the information available to the NBU regarding the facts, events, and circumstances of the banks' operations, considering the specifics of their functioning, the nature and volume of banking and financial services provided, as well as other types of activities, as clarified in the press release.
