The military from the 411th separate regiment BPAC "Yastreby" reported this to hromadske.
As stated by the head of the city military administration, Sergey Dobryak, to "Suspilne," the stele was restored by the municipal service workers.
The installation of the updated, lighter stele took place yesterday, January 3, which allowed the work to be completed in a single day.
Recall that the destruction of the stele was reported on January 2 by a serviceman of the 68th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Pavel Vyshybaba. According to the Pokrovsk City Military Administration, it was damaged by an explosion during a Russian attack with guided aerial bombs.
According to Vyshybaba, the letter "P" from the inscription "Pokrovsk" was thrown to the roadside, so he stopped and placed it in his trunk. In the soldier's opinion, it "should become an artifact in the future museum of the Russian-Ukrainian war."
"Such remnants of history, in my view, belong to the Ukrainian nation, and they should not be auctioned off. The price being paid is too high for the city to remain on the map just as it is, like these letters: yellow and blue.", noted Vyshybaba.
On January 2, the operational-strategic grouping of troops "Khortytsia" announced that the Russians are trying to bypass and surround Pokrovsk.
As of December, approximately 11,000 people remain in the frontline Pokrovsk community, including 27 children. Food and water are being distributed in Pokrovsk by charitable organizations.
On December 28, Pokrovsk lost power. Additionally, since December 12, there has been a cessation of natural gas distribution there.
Authorities urge residents not to delay evacuation due to the worsening security situation.
Currently, evacuation trains are departing from the Pavlohrad station. To register for a train, you need to submit a request by calling the contact center of the Pokrovsk City Military Administration at: 0-800-300-101.
