An earthquake occurred in the Poltava region. Tremors were felt around 18:25 in Poltava, as reported by "Suspilne" correspondents.
Local residents mentioned that furniture in high-rise buildings shook, and cars moved in garages.
The earthquake in Poltava was officially confirmed by the Main Center for Special Control, according to the State Emergency Service (DSNS).
"At 18:21, an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.67 occurred between Poltava and Reshetylivka. The tremors were recorded at a depth of 3 km.
According to preliminary information, there are no negative consequences, and no calls have been made to the DSNS," the statement said.
According to geophysicist Volodymyr Shlyakhovyi, there have been 15 earthquakes in the Poltava region since 2010. The largest one occurred on February 3, 2015, near Hadyach (the epicenter was in Sumy region). At that time, the earthquake was rated between 4.7 and 4.8 on the Richter scale.
Earthquakes in the Poltava region mainly occur along the line of Pereshchepyn — Karlivka — Zachepilivka. Most of the 15 earthquakes have taken place there at depths ranging from 5 to 11 kilometers.
